ICT (Information and Communication Technology) is a valuable learning tool that uses electronic media like text, graphics, sound, images, and videos to deliver a lot of information to learners. ICT allows learners to access a lot of resources on the internet and other digital mediums, which evokes self-learning and curiosity. From my experience as a student, I’ve found that videos and animations make learning easier and more interesting. For example, watching a video about volcanic eruptions helped me understand the process better than reading from a textbook. Images and visuals also play a big role in helping me remember information. The ancient saying "a picture is worth a thousand words" is true, especially in the classroom when images can better explain abstract things. As a prospective teacher, I plan to utilize ICT tools in various ways to improve learning. I may start a lesson with a video or animation to catch students' attention. This screenshot shows how my family members stay connected, even though we live in different parts of Bhutan. My mother’s younger sister lives in Shingkhar Lauri, Samdrup Jongkhar, which is in the southeast. Her younger brother lives in Zhemgang, which is in the central part of the country. My parents live in Tongzhang, Trashiyangtse in the east, and I live in Paro in the west. Even though we are all far apart, we stay in touch through Messenger, a communication app. Messenger helps us talk to each other every day. We share what we did during the day, how we’re feeling, and anything interesting that happened. It feels like we are still close, even though we are far away. We also send each other pictures, voice messages, and videos, which makes it even more fun and personal. One of our favorite things to do is video calling.
